Directions to Geisel Library

Driving directions from north of La Jolla

  • Take Interstate 5 SOUTH; exit on GENESEE AVENUE and veer right (west).
  • TURN LEFT at 3rd light on NORTH TORREY PINES ROAD.
  • TURN LEFT at next light on NORTH POINT DRIVE.

Driving directions from south of La Jolla

  • Take Interstate 5 NORTH; exit on GILMAN DRIVE and head north; continue about 1.5 miles.

Transit Information

  • City bus routes 30, 41, 150, 201/202, and 237 all go through UCSD. Exit at Gilman/Myers stop for Geisel Library.
  • Choose University of California, San Diego from list of landmarks when using the San Diego MTS trip planner.

Directions to Biomedical Library Building

Driving directions from north of La Jolla

  • Take Interstate 5 SOUTH; exit on LA JOLLA VILLAGE DRIVE west.
  • Proceed to GILMAN DRIVE and TURN RIGHT.

Driving directions from south of La Jolla

  • Take Interstate 5 NORTH; exit on GILMAN DRIVE.
  • TURN LEFT at stop sign onto Gilman Drive; continue about 1.5 miles.

Transit Information

  • Free Shuttle Service is available between main campus and Medical Centers at Hillcrest and East Campus.

Access to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography Archives is by appointment only. Please contact Special Collections and Archives (SC&A) at spcoll@ucsd.edu or 858-534-2533.

Directions to the Annex

Please note: The Annex is an off-site storage facility and is not open for browsing. Materials may be requested online or reviewed on-site, by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged by contacting AnnexRequests@ucsd.edu.

From campus

  • Take La Jolla Village Drive east; it turns into Miramar Road.
  • Turn left on AleSmith Court; at the end of the cul-de-sac, turn left.
  • The Annex will be the second building on the right side, 7835.

Transit

  • The 31 is the only route that stops near the Annex.
  • The closest stop is Miramar Road & Empire Street.
